Haha today's training was quite fun (:
We were shooting balls at the Aikido area cos it was raining, then we were throwing down balls to let people throw up. xD
Ting Wei sucks at throwing. Like the RGPS softball girl like that. :D
Haha realised that I deprove like crazy. Must go training more often!

Then coach came and we went to LT2 for a 'lecture' on the rules of the game.
It was quite entertaining and informative as well haha.
Learnt a lot about the rules of the game today!

NAPFA on saturday! I hope the whole team manages at least a silver!
If not, go in army early!

CAT HIGH friendly last week, we lost to them 12.2

Then had trainings on Mon and thurs, thurs we learnt the play up(:

Today we have TJ friendly; i would say we are good today! haha rather a super tight match, never felt this way before, first friendly i feel that i improved as a line, sorry LINE 2 to have missed 3 shots); Really bobo shooter liao, i promised that during NATS, it wouldn't happen liao! COS I got Crenshawn's s-bow now muahahahaha! haha and with my cool unique awesome orange wiz unbeatable blade, it is like godlike now! hahahaha but our gameplay today was awesome(: LOVE LINE 2; HO QIHENG, TERRENCE FOO and KAIXIANG! haha AND of cos CHIUEN WEI who have been playing in my line for the past training till he today went to line 1. THINKING whether to play forward or play RIGHT WINGER, Coach say i play forward, went too far back, play right wing, went too far front... but i changed today so glad! haha AND the score was 0.0 for the first period till we lost 2.0 in the second period. We didnt have the court for the third period, so who knows who won(:

OMG haven been updating the floorball blog...

Anyway NJ Floorball Camp 2011 have just ended!(: Woohoo really bond with the newcomers(;

First Day, we verus Bukit Merah Secs, Girls score was 5.1 i think and guys was 3.7 ( excluding my goal!!! FML)

Then we went back school to have lunch and play some games... hahah then we have stickwork in the gym for a while then we went home(:

Second day was more fun(:
Met at RP for training(: Coach came down to teach the seniors first and train us on dragon and our turn drag!!! and of course our drag(: WOOHOO!!! my drag improved!!! (: i finally know how to accurately place my ball using my drag(: THANKS coach! And I realised i could really play better as winger, i think forward isn't suited for me );

ANW after RP we went eat at the canteen there(; and chatted la then went back school!
SOMETHING happen in the bus ahem ahem Junching and aikeen haha

BUT was damn tired when i reach school, reach school alr, we were spilt into 4 groups and play games... first game i played was the hulahoop one, lols we lost that and i sabo aikeen! haha poor him...

Next game we played the number aka greek game, ok lar that one quite fun and not bad

Then we played ultimate frisbee and thrash Group A 7.2 haha(:

Then the girls have PT and we have stickwork in the gym

Later we have PT after that and it was freaking tiring (:

STUPID QH made me laugh while sprinting!!! my lungs still hurting!

And we went CurryWok for dinner with the new people and Adrian and Co(;

I went home with aikeen ,xing yu and wen shan on 852( didnt know aikeen live so near me) YAY! haha heard about what CW did to aikeen haha!

BUT overall Floorball Camp 2011 was a success la(:

Practiced the lift pass and angled board pass and the situation when the ball roll out from the defender to the end of the court, how to get the ball up from the defensive zone to the transition zone

I also learn to play the position of the forward better(:

To pressure more on the defender and to go back and defend when necessary

Anyway, training yesterday, we learn not to slash and train not to slash to prevent 2 mins penalty. We did a drill that involve tackling!

Coach bought his friend yesterday and learn quite a lot of things from him; esp the 2 vs 1 drill.

Last SAT, we had training too, did 2vs 1 , 2vs2 drills and the regular ones too(:

Tmr we have friendly with RV and we can do it(: haha meet 3.15 pm at atrium and bring red jersey to change and also bring along the white one(:

Today training TOTALLY sucks to the max!!!

OK la, Morning got my Unihoc jerseys(: haha happy luh(: like the red one.

Then afternoon got training, sucks to be training in the D, burn my blade like crazy, make me so unhappy.

THEN the guys today, also not very serious!!! sian can play and fool around, but at least the do the drill properly AND please take the initiative to see any depleting queues for the 3v1!!! have been running to queue 2 and 3 to fill up the spaces a lot times!!! Sian the games sucks, no boards to play and cant try the formation properly. AND coach didnt come today):

Haiz, Btw if anyone wants to train tmr, i will be available for most of the days, will be gg to the gym to practice some shots!!! AIMing for TOP 4!!!

GAMES we played a junior vs senior match style, girls 15 mins then guys 15 mins.
I would say LINE ONE played damn well that day(: YAY! haha scored two goals towards the end(: I have CHANGED TO triangle from top forward, trying out that position.

THEN i went back RP to watch ILO vs RP Spartans match, ILO and RP was equally ZAI! haha but ILO more zai, esp the Ang moh guy! haha aim to play like him

Training was supposed to be in the gym but coach came at 5 or 6; cant rmb so Weichen made us self-train.

Training AT RP today(;

Darius came(: Apparently he came last week too but i never go):

BTW today training was tiring;

We did Arial pass catches today( Just lift the ball only) (: trick: to tap the ball when it is about to touch the ground, so as to cushion and make the ball to the direction you wanted it to go

Then we did 3 vs1 drill again; to train our attacking instinct, later on we have 2 defenders instead, making it harder to shoot the ball in; 3vs2 .

Later part of the training, we played games; aim is to train our forechecking(READ your NOTEs)

When the ball pass through our forwards, all players must be able to shut off possible windows!

I need to train more on my attacking instinct throughout the game and practise to shut my windows and forecheck the opponents.

WE did pt first before stickwork, ran 4 warm up rounds, sprint 4 sets of intervals and did 120 crutches and 120 squats. After that, we ended PT and chase the girls out or rather i chase them out(: haha

Wanted to join the new comers(: haha BUT BAD NEWS IS only 3 guys confirmed joining floorball sian): GIRLS idk. Aiya must be i not there, they nv see me dont want join liao): haha jking(;

Next training, can we please join in and interact with them, and not just the exco...

Today stickwork was a lot of training of passes and ball control, jiawei told me these 2 are the most important basic to know.

WE did simple dibble, simple double and 1,2 passing. Later on, we have a forward vs defender drills, aim is to teach us how to brake and fake to move up to take a shot(:

After these, we played games, 3 vs3. I was in Gary line until i switched to qiheng and dylan line(:

We played against the seniors( Jiawei and Jonathan) and sean(: OMG Jonathan is damn fast, i saw his sprint dibble from the front view, omg awesome, see all the shots damn gay! Training today was like hardcore!

Morning PT we did Roadrun( 3.6km) , sian my group( Me, Qiheng, Chieun Wei and Edward) came in 17 mins or late 16 mins... sian really wanted to improve... ): But i think i still can do it within 16 mins(:

GUYS monday we having the new comers to come for try outs(: but we still having coach training in the gym (:

Anyway, we did monkey for stickwork again, except this time can dribble and move, my lifting ball up passes not very accurate, too used to ground passes. After that, we did break in(1) drill and then we did a forward vs defender drills, me and qiheng was like fighting about who better(: obviously me right? (haha jking... depends on situation lar(: )Then we did a drill which was a forward had assist from another player to test our forward skills. Defenders must try to go in front of the forward to intercept the pass made to prevent the forward to score. ALL these are known as ball cover or pass cover. We also did spin dribble with the ball to get away from the defender to try out our leg movement and spin dribble to score.

Then for Afternoon Pt, omg! Mr Wright 's PT was a killer. WE did 4 rounds of running the tracks, then did sprints (i think 7 sets) ; I damn scared of the softball liao! I win Qiheng all the sprints(: heh aiya u get better running with me right? Then we went indoor, did 100 push ups ( 5 sets of 20 push up), 80 of squats, a lot of crutches, 4 sets jumping up down exercise. After all these, it was really tiring but worth it! Haha then i played with coach new rage blade, not bad for wirst shots(: haha joanne funny, bring home his stick, say want get all the luck from his stick(; keep trying mans.

FIRST EVENT: SENIORS FAREWELL 09!

so quite alot of seniors turned up in the end (: it was really fun right! the amazing race was like BOOMZ. haha and the food/games at denise's house was great too! but most importantly, EVERYONE WHO WENT WERE FANTASTIC!

Group stage: NJC v MJC (Girls)
Result: 3-4 (1-1, 2-1, 0-2)

It was a tight matchup between the two teams, with a placing in the play-off stage at stake. Only one team will proceed to the next stage. It was a roller coaster match with both teams leading at some points, and there were continuous shots from both sides, as both teams were seeking for the win. Eventually, it was the ever-vigilant opponent and their neat finishing touches that pulled them through to the next round.

Goal scorers: Liying (2), Abigail (1)
Assists: NIL

(Wo)man of the match: Zhixin
Despite the constant pressure to keep the defence at the back tight, Zhixin hasn't succumb to the pressure and took charge of the goal mouth area well. Because of her timed challenges and tackles, the opponent couldn't get near the goal to get a shot. No rebounded goals were scored against her as the screeners were effectively neutralised by her. She has also kept the ball well under control from the back and prevented quick turnovers.

Special mention: Kahyee, Liying, Matilda
Kahyee - has good composure and calm attacking setup from the back.
Liying - good individual skills against the opponent's tight defence and got two crucial goals for the team.
Matilda - good use of speed to hunt the opponents down and has won possession of the ball back many times.

Group stage: NJC v IJC (Guys)
Result: 5-2 (2-1, 1-0, 2-1)

We finally lead from the start of the match for the first time in this season. It was a pretty much easy victory against a technically less-skilled opponent, but due to moments of lapse of concentration, we allowed the opponent to steal two goals away from us. Overall, it was more of the work of the magic touches of individuals that won us the match, than classy team play that outwit the opponent.

Goal scorers: Junxiong (2), Junlong (2), Shaun (1)
Assists: Darius (1), Zihong (1)

Man of the match: Junlong
He's probably the most enthusiastic player of the match. Not only has his high energy level inspired his lines to seek the goals for the team, he has also gotten two simple individual goals with neat finishing touches. It was hard work and consistent training that paid off.

Special mention: Kaywee, Junxiong, Zihong, Darius
Kaywee - more involvement in the attacking setups than previous matches and indirectly assisted in the first goal of the match.
Junxiong - as sharp as the previous match and got two neat finishing.
Zihong - more consistent and composed than in previous matches and has set up a goal in the 2nd period to pull us further away from the opponent.
Darius - more alert and lesser unforced errors than previous matches.

Group stage: NJC v TJC (Girls)
Result: 4-1 (2-0, 2-1, 0-0)

Despite a change in playing venue and the unfarmiliar environment, we got to a better start with 2 goals in the first period to put us in the comfortable seat. It was a smooth-sailing match throughout with shots and goals coming in quite regularly, even though there were some moments of scare in between. All-in-all, it was our well-rounded attack, from normal set-ups to set pieces set-ups, and well-trained individual defending that gave us another important victory.

Goal scorers: Karen (3), Matilda (1)
Assists: NIL

(Wo)man of the match: Karen
Another fantastic performance put up by Karen, in the attacking department. She has done extremely well in keeping her play sharp and neat - good use of body nudges, quick body adjustments for the shots, and well-executed shots. Though she didn't impress in defense, at least she got the goals we most needed, and a huge boost to the team's achievement.

Special mention: Kahyee, Wenqin, Mayumi, Yikyie, Wan Er
Wenqin, Mayumi - Being strong in ball protection.
Kahyee - Brave defending performance against a tough opponent forward.
Yikyie - Being strong in 50-50 ball situation
Wan Er - Being composed at the goal despite the sudden called-up in period 3.

Group stage: NJC v ACJC (Guys)
Result: 7-2 (1-1, 3-0, 3-1)

We got off to yet another slow start and awarded the opponent the opening goal. We had to spend almost a third of the match to crawl back into the game. But eventually it was our experience and sharpness at their goal mouth that got pay off and gave us our first convincing victory of the season.

Goal scorers: Junxiong (3), Chee Keong (2), Weijie (1), Juan (1)
Assists: Junlong (1)

Man of the match: Weijie
He's probably the most consistent player in the match. From defense to attack, he has done the simple things very well. And despite a switch of playing role from forward to winger during the match, he's still able to make the necessary adjustments and play to the system.

Special mention: Rong Sheng, Junxiong, Chee Keong, Juan
Rong sheng - very disciplined as a forward.
Junxiong - very sharp in attack and always has good positioning and ready for the shot.
Chee Keong, Juan - very hardworking in their respective lines to provide strong support of play, especially in attack.

National JC beat newcomers ACJC for first win in girls’ A Division floorball

Raffles Junior College Indoor Sports Hall, Tuesday, April 28, 2009 - National Junior College showed the benefit of greater experience in their 6-1 win over first-timers Anglo-Chinese Junior College.

Despite their newcomer status, ACJC were clearly determined not to be seen as pushovers as they began the match with full court pressure, with their forwards keeping close to the NJC defenders to foil their play-ups.

An opportunity came early in the first period when the ACJC #18 made a pass to the ACJC #7 who was in front of the goal, unmarked. However, she was unable to convert it into a goal.

Shortly after, a dribble up along the sideboards by the NJC #3 saw her attempt a wraparound shot but the ACJC keeper fast enough to stop her shot. However, the NJC #3 went in for a rebound to put a backhand shot past the keeper for a 1-0 lead.

Barely 2 minutes later, a shot by an NJC player was fumbled by the ACJC keeper and the ball rolled in for the second NJC goal.

NJC were awarded a free hit towards the end of the first period and their #73 scored a spectacular volley to make it 3-0.

ACJC almost scored when their #18 made a pass from behind the goal post to teammate #7 but her shot went wide.

In the 33rd minute, ACJC received a 2-minute bench penalty for an improper substitution. NJC rolled out their power play but their shots were either blocked by the ACJC keeper or were off-target.

However, within a minute of the power play, the NJC #28 found teammate #36 with a pass across the court and all it took was a simple grounder to make it 4-0.

All this while, ACJC remain unfazed and kept pressuring NJC at full court and ran for loose balls whenever possible.

In the 47th minute, the efforts of the NJC #3 finally paid off when she tapped in the fifth goal for her team between the ACJC keeper’s legs.

ACJC finally scored a goal to show for their hard work. The ACJC #18 blocked a centre pass while pressuring. The ball bounced up and she took a swift volley which sent the ball into the bottom right corner for her team’s first goal. The team was in euphoria as they celebrated their first goal in a floorball competition.

The ACJC keeper saved a certain goal in the 53rd minute when she caught a shot just before the goal line just as the NJC players were about to celebrate.

But there was no stopping NJC as they finally wrapped up the game with a well-planned free-hit when the NJC #3 passed to teammate #21 who took a hard shot and placed the ball into the goal for a 6-1 victory.

ACJC fought relentlessly, and showed good sportsmanship and commendable spirit as newcomers in an entertaining and hard-fought match.

Group stage: NJC v VJC (Girls)
Result: 2-3 (0-1, 1-1, 1-1)

It was indeed an exciting performace put up by both teams! The match was full of actions and speed, from the first whistle to the very last second. The opponent took an early lead into the match when we were not fully settled down, and that proved to be the first crucial mark that sets both teams apart from then on. Both teams kept up the pressure on each other after the opening goal, but it was just too little too late for us, and having missed a few very good scoring opportunities, that gave the opponent a narrow victory.

Goal scorers: Liying (1), Karen (1)
Assists: Matilda (1)

(Wo)man of the match: Karen
Karen was almost everywhere in the court, from defense to attack, and her pressence was strongly felt in the middle court area. Her ability to stay composed and focused throughout the game not only has gotten the team a well-taken free-hit goal, but has also inspired the team to continue to fight on till the very last whistle.

Special mention: Zhixin, Jasmine
Jasmine - If not for her good reflexes and good vision, the margin of the score would have been greater.
Zhixin - Controlling the play well despite being heavily pressured by the opposition forwards.

29 April 2009, Wednesday
Group stage: NJC v MJC (Guys)
Result: 2-4 (2-2, 0-0, 0-2)

Another well-played match, but yet another loss for us. Both teams were quite evenly matched but the opposition team was sharper in their attacks. We need to improve on our shots conversion rate.

Goal scorers: Soon Kiang (1), Zi Hong (1)
Assists: Weijie (1)

Man of the match: Darius
He's probably the least shaky player in this match. He has shown good composure on the ball and in command, to be able to get his line organised and work efficiently.

Special mention: Rong Sheng, Weijie, Junlong, Zi Hong
Rong sheng - though the playing time is short, he has done his job well.
Weijie, Junlong, Zihong - tireless running in defense and attack for their respective lines, and being more effective in supporting role for our defenders.

It wasn't an excellent performance but we have done well enough to attain a comfortable victory over a new team. We took a comfortable lead early in the match and that gave us more opportunities to focus on other aspects of the game, like in defense, free-hits and powerplay set-ups. All-in-all, though we got the result that we wanted, we could have done better in the individual department.

(Wo)man of the match: Fangyee
It was tough choosing the wo(man) of the match. But Fangyee eventually emerge as the winner because she has been extremely active at the goal mouth, such that she's able to pick up at least one goal from there. It's always very crowded in the goal mouth area. For a goal to be scored there, it would take a player to be at the right place at the right time, and taking a timed-hit. She has done well in that.

Special mention: Kahyee, Zhixin, Wenqin
Not only have they kept the defense at the back tight, they have also distributed the ball well to the forwards to start the offensive set-up.

Group stage: NJC v YJC (Guys)
Result: 2-4 (1-2, 1-0, 0-2)

Unable to get settled down earlier than the opponent, we gave away two unexpected goals and put ourselves early in the chasing seat. When we have finally settled down, we managed to capitalise on several good shooting opportunities to put us back into the game. However, a well-fought come-back could only be washed away with two defensive errors, which put us in the back seat again. In addition, the lack of offensive set-ups put us in a tougher position to achieve an opening match victory.

Assists: NIL

Man of the match: Mok
Although the blunder he made late in the 3rd period might have cost us the match, he has been extremely alert at the goal throughout the match. His numerous timed-saves has kept the team's hope alive at least till almost the final whistle.

Not because of the goals they scored, but because they have been following simple instructions and carrying them out diligently, which most of our players have failed to do.

Hi, this is the video which was shown during the camp. I thought some of you might want to watch it again.

Anyway, i would just like to tell the team about a few things. Nationals is nearing and probably now is the period of time when most of you are uncertain, nervous, excited or full of expectations for yourself and the team. For the guys, most of us probably do not like to express our feelings. It's okay. But do not forget that your teammates are always there for you. If you need a listening ear, we are always ready to help you. Enjoy the process, and finish it strong!

Things will not always turn out to be what we want, but these are the challenges that will turn us into better and stronger person. So, believe in yourself, and continue to believe in your teammates. We can achieve what we want, together.

Hello all

Sorry that I couldn't be there for the entire game. I had expected you all to start at 6pm and end by 7pm mah.

Here are some pointers for the defenders/last men. I wanted to tell you all personally, but I had to rush off, and this blog is pretty dead anyway. Coach, correct me if I'm wrong, but do it secretly please, cos I'd be very paiseh.

Legend:

1. Slow Resetting

The Red Circle with a "J" is Jasmine (sorry Waner, I didn't see you play) . While the Red Circle with a "1" is the defender/last man.

It's very very very very important to have fast fast fast resetting because the path you take is longer than the path the opponent is taking. Even a Primary 5 kid can tell that half a circumference is longer than the radius of a circle (remember, we learnt about the pi and the 22/7 thing in Pri 5) . Furthermore, that opponent doesn't have a ball to control.

If you're stuck at one corner of the court and want to free yourself, you reset. You have to be faster than the opponent to prevent yourself from being stuck at the other corner.

So what to do? Practice lor. Just go to the gym, put the goal there, and practice running around it with the ball. And practice releasing the ball too. You can do it without your line mates.

2. After resetting

I saw this happen at least twice while I was there.

Player 1 manages to reset nicely.

Player 1 meets Player 2 at the other corner of the court.

Player 1 passes the ball to Player 2 when they are less than 1 metre apart, and runs away "to spread out" and the ball is now Player 2's problem.

If Player 1 wanted to get the ball to the other corner, why couldn't she have just used the boards and not waste energy running to the other corner?

So, what to do? Player 2 should run up while Player 1 is resetting. Player 1 sends the ball down to her by the boards. Player 2 runs in with the ball and scores. Everybody's happy.

(If Player 1 doesn't seem to be resetting, it probably means that she wants Player 2 to go to the other corner and board pass to her)

If Player 2 is marked by an annoying opponent. Be flexible, don't eng eng lai. Send a hard one diagonally down to Player 3. Player 3 will then run in with the ball and score. Everybody's happy.

And if Player 2 and 3 are marked by annoying opponents, ask Coach, cos I forgot what to do.

If it were me, I will call out to Player 3, then Player 3 will stealth the opponent marking her (maybe by groping her butt, or saying "hey sexy baby". It'll work lor.). Player 3 will suddenly run out. Player 1 sends the ball down to Player 3. Player 3 scores. Everybody's happy.

Oh yeah, and if an annoying opponent is marking Player 1 like in the picture below, thus preventing 1 from passing to 2, 1 can pass to 3. Must sui2 ji1 ying4 bian4. My chinese not bad sia. Higher Chinese A2, don't play play.

Of course, I may be wrong since our systems are different (generation gap) , so ask Coach to be sure.

And I just realised that others JCs might visit our blog and steal our secret methods. But I don't think they will trust advice given using Microsoft Paint.

And just relax and stay calm during the match okay? You guys chose the team name "Laxing" over nicer ones like "Li Ying muacks _ a _ i _ s" and "Fangyee huggs _ e _ v _ n" leh. You all should be pro at laxing. When you are not so stressed, you can then focus and remember what Coach has said.

Don't worry, the seniors will try not to lose too much faith in you guys :D

Hello one and all

These are the instructions and fixtures for the Floorball Marathon

You don't have to print it out, I have 5 sets of the hard copy, cos Dick Hui assumed that I am the captain of all the girls teams since I faxed them all.

Important Stuff to take note:

1. Report to Tampines West CC Hall on Storey 2 at least 1.5 hours before the team's first match.

2. Drinks will be provided.

3. Players must wear the T Shirt provided.

The McDonald's there is 24 hours, so we don't have to worry about starving to death.

The names of the other teams are so uncreative, like Greendale Girls A, Greendale Girls B, Greendale Boys A, Wee Wee Fanclub, Laxing and Addicted. Where was the L_ Y_ng huggs D_ri_s <33, and the F_ng Y__ muacks M_lv_n <33 ?? (names censored to protect the privacy of the involved people)

Juniors, remember to do your homework.
Seniors girls, lets rot for 6 months.

7. walk for around 20 m.
8. turn right at woodleigh close.
9. walk for another 30m then reach already.

alternatively you can come from bishan. take bus 13.

the other buses that come to my house are 133, 853, 147 etc.

i believe that my detailed directions are sufficient to get you to my function room.

Present: Secret Santa? Everybody buys a gift worth approximately $10 to be exchanged amongst ourselves.

I would really want everybody to be there, both juniors and seniors, girls and guys (: I think it'll be great fun and the last time we could all see each other together as a whole before people start leaving for the army and going overseas to study.

The play will be 3 on 3 without goalkeeper

Please help to spread the word round and help us to get as many people involved. The critical time is the midnight to dawn hours where we needyou to support.

There is no fee to be paid and we want everyone to have fun and it is alsoa novel way to celebarte the new year.

Here's the tentative (tenTERtive) lines for the floorball marathonon 31st december. I tried to put us in our nationals lines, but some cat is away in Hong Kong, so the last line has to be split.

Our dear Flabbigail will be away to the US from the 28th Dec.

Ohwells seniors, if Tampines West CSC sounds remotely unfamiliar to you, do think harder! Remember the 3v3 match at Tampines CC earlier this year where we met the tj teams as well as the junior team from RJC? Remember the emcee who pronounced our team name,"AQUA" as "A-GUA"? Remember the little malay kids shaking their butts damn hard at the playing of music?

I believe that over the past few months, the five of you have gained the trust and the respect of your team-mates, and that you have proven yourselves worthy to lead this team for next year's nationals (: The seniors believe that all of you will lead the team with confidence,discipline, passion, and most importantly, love. I have no doubt that the new exco will bring njcfloorball to even greater heights, and to strive even harder to get a better position for nationals next year (: Remain focused, do not procrastinate, and start planning and training hard now! Make an even better name for njfloorball, and let us be a force to be reckoned with.

The seniors are cramming for the "A" levels now, but we just wanted to say that we are really proud that all of you are taking the initiative to selftrain and to come up with new initiatives for the team. I am really happy and contented to see the team in good hands (:

Go out there and make us proud, and remember that the seniors will always be here to support you throughout your floorball journey (:

On a serious note, I would like to request for the floorball tagboard to be treated with respect. We have fun, we joke around- everybody knows that. We are probably one of the craziest teams around, and that's what we love. But all of you should be fully aware of when you have to draw the line. It is one thing to play jokes and be humorous, but posting sardonic and insinuiting comments is an entirely different matter. I, and including majority of the seniors, are sick and tired of seeing people pretending to be somebody else, especially when there is an intention to discredit someone from the team. Pretending to be audrey isn't funny, it's downright rude.

I am going to say this once- if you have a problem or a personal grudge with someone from floorball, settle it personally, OUT of this blog, and away from the team. Do not use this blog as a platform to discredit someone anonymously, because I will not have it. If this continues, I will shut down the tagboard.

Breakdown of weightage of each vote:

Each player: 5% of total (100%)

Miss Wong: 3% of total

Coach: 7% of total

Objective:

To select a player from each team who best represents the team, both on and off the court.

He and she must have played a significant role (not necessarily in a leadership role) in shaping the teams to their current form.

He and she must have strong positive contributions to the teams as a player both on and off the court.

He and she must possess a high degree of discipline, sportsmanship, fairness, knowledge of the game, understanding of the team and any other positive attributes.

Selected Players of the Year will each receive a prized item and a certificate of acknowledgement contributed by the NJC Floorball funds.

Girls: NJC v RJC

Finals: NJC v RJC (Gals)

Result: 2-5 (1-0, 0-4, 1-1)

The pressure started piling from both teams right from the start of the game. It was the opponent who started firing a string of shots towards our goal but we took a surprising turn for the game by scoring the opening goal. In the 2nd period, RJC stepped up further in aggression and they got the better of us; stealing the possession from us time and again and converting their chances to goals. The 3rd period was well-matched but it was a little too late for us. Overall, it was an awesome display by two hard-fighting teams for a fantastic crowd!

Goal scorer: Reethie (1), Sueping (1)

Assist: NIL

Man of the Match: Mer

Though without a goal from the game, Mer has displayed yet another valuable quality which a forward should possess - the ability to maintain ball possession. Because of this quality that she has, together with the use of her speed and good ball protection, she has posed a lot of threats to the opposition defence. With good control over the ball, a forward is able to set up the line for an attack more effectively.

Special mention: Bingxin, Sueping, Ter, Reethie

Bingxin - Has good composure in defence and has established good communication with her line-mates.

Sueping, Reethie & Ter - As usual, very hard-working in defence and has helped the team win back the possession of the ball numerous times.

Semi Finals: NJC v MJC (Gals)

Result: 1-5 (0-0, 1-3, 0-2)

We went into the game with a different strategy today against the defending champions. The game plan went well for most of the game and we did manage to keep them at bay in the 1st period. However, the opponent's superior speed, aggression and technical-ability proved to much for us to handle from the 2nd period, and we eventually crumpled and fell off the competition. Overall, it was a battle lost to a well-prepared and well-trained squad.

Goal scorer: Mer (1)

Assist: NIL

Man of the Match: Reethie

Reethie has contributed significantly in defense to help neutralised the opponent's attack. Even when faced with the strongest players from the opposite camp for most of the game, she did not give up on her chase for the ball. She went in for double-teams diligently and has cut off several ball supplies to their forwards. Her fitness training has well-paid off today and more importantly, she has grown out of her usual self to be a strong player on court.

Special mention: Cat, Mer, Pris

Mer - For scoring her 1st goal of the season and great fighting spirit throughout the whole game.

Cat - She has done well to neutralise the MJC's captain's move for most of the game. She only scored against Line 3 once through a counter-attack.

Pris - She has kept her line's defence consistently tight.

MUZHI Strikes Back

I've my very own movie!
This time, there are only 2 main actors - Husband #2 and ME
(unlike floorball babes, where I'm just one of the 6 main characters. And Kinphang is MINE lor, not Ter's)

Remember this romantic movie back in 2003?

There is now a sequel - 向左走·向右走 2 ! Which is even more romantic and thrilling.

See the similarities? I'm looking left, while he's looking right. While the other unimportant people are more or less blurred. (by the way, the leg behind me belongs to Ter)

Love blossoms (:
I'm still facing left while he's facing right.
I'm secretly smsing him (or S_K__T, K_NPH_NG, S_M)
The leg behind me is still Ter's leg.
Actually Ter has a role in this movie

After 向左走·向右走 2, I'm going to have another movie. Again, it is a sequel to another show

THE MUZHI STRIKES BACK
The battle between Bt. MERAH and TERRA continues.

My movies are very logical
In 向左走·向右走 2, Ter will try to steal Husband #2 away from me
In THE MUZHI STRIKES BACK, I will retaliate and the famous battle of Bt. MERAH and TERRA will ensue

Guess who will be the one gazing into my eyes in the movie poster.
(hint: probably someone whom I always close my eyes with)

Guys: NJC v NYJC

Group stage: NJC v NYJC (Guys)

Result: 5-3 (3-0, 0-0, 2-3)

It was probably the easiest match we could have, but we didn't make it look so easy. Nevertheless, we still managed to get the goals through the set-ups we have always been practising on and earned another victory to end our season on a reasonably good ranking.

Goal scorer: Jason (1), Sam (1), Gary (1), Su Kiat (1), Louis (1)

Assist: Su Kiat (1), Sam (1), Jiawei (1)

Man of the Match: Adrian

Adrian has shown great stability in defence that one would doubt whether he just started playing floorball six months ago. He used his body well in 50-50 ball situations and distributed neat passes to his forwards to start a good set-up. After 2 fairly consistent performances, he has finally stepped further to play a confident game.

Special mention: Jason, Gary, Louis

Their never-say-die attitude earned them their first and only goal of the season. They wanted it and they got it.
